I was contacted by Sam (owner) to ask about arrival time so he could make sure he was there for my arrival and he was there when I arrived later in the evening. The property is sat within well kept grounds and looked amazing. Sam led me to my immaculate room and talked about the facilities and breakfast. The room was spacious and had a large en-suite, which again was very well presented. I messaged to provide my order for breakfast and this was cooked to perfection using local produce. Overall, I can’t rate this property high enough and will definitely look at this property first if I’m back in the area.

Sam, the host, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for him. The room was beautiful - large and luxurious, with a bath in the room and a shower in the bathroom. There was a table and chairs and a private area outside the room. The garden was gorgeous and we had the right kind of weather to enjoy it. Sam gave us personal recommendations for eating in the area. The lovely town of Houghton and its historic mill was just a 15 minute walk and there were some nice walks in the area. (My partner has a dog phobia but Sam kindly kept the dogs inside while she was coming and going.)

Horwood

The grounds the property are set on are beautiful, I arrived later than expected and the hosts were so welcoming and friendly, provided me with fresh milk for the fridge. Bonus was having Sky TV in the room and a chair to relax on rather than just laid on the bed like so many other hotels. I thought that the finer details were definitely considered and the Elemis products in the bathroom I.e. shampoo, conditioner and lotion, were a bonus. Amazing breakfast and lots selection on the menu.

Location was great for our event that we attended at the weekend. Lovely view from room, beautiful gardens. Very clean and tidy. There was great consideration when setting out the rooms eg make up wipes, bath robes, different teas on tray etc. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts if there was an issues. Breakfast was ordered the evening before with a time that you would be down which was great, this was done by message.

We truly appreciated the service and local area knowledge/advice provided to us throughout our extended stay. All the rooms are equally impressive. The preordered custom breakfast was delicious and ready to eat every morning at the time you requested. If you are looking for a place to stay in the area this is where to stay without a doubt.
